jgreen.png Jason Green has resigned as the Assistant Director of Coaching for Gilbert Soccer Club in order to take a coaching position at the University of Wyoming at Laramie. Jason has been with GSC for 4 years and has been instrumental in developing the Speed/Technical training program, keeper training, and assisting Director of Coaching Tim Barmettler in countless other areas. Jason could be found most nights at the soccer complex, supervising specialty training or working with coaches and players.

Jason has been the boy's soccer head coach at Chandler High School for the past 4 years. Under his direction, the program went from 2 wins in a season, to State Tournament qualifiers the last 2 years. His Chandler High boy's team also won NSCAA All Academic Awards for 3 consecutive years, thanks in large part to Jason’s focus on academics as well as soccer.

Jason has coached soccer for ten years at various levels, clubs, and schools around the country. Jason has coached teams to the regional level for club soccer and the state finals for high school soccer. Most recently, during the summer of 2007 Jason helped coach the Gilbert Arsenal 90 Premier boys team to a 3rd place finish at the USYSA Regional tournament. This summer, he also worked with the Mile High Edge Women’s professional team and he has served as a volunteer assistant with the Mesa Community College women's team, which finished 4th in the nation in 2006.

Jason holds a United States Soccer Federation “B” coaches license and is a member of The National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In 2002, Jason was named Arizona Youth Soccer Association Coach of The Year. Last year he was named the 2006-07 Fiesta Region Coach of the Year, and in 2003 he was named East Valley Region Coach of The year. Jason also is a former Olympic Development Program Coach. He is a staff coach at Texas A&M summer camps. He also received the Educator of Excellence at Washington State University.

Jason played at Mesa Community College for two years before transferring to and playing at Grand Canyon University. Jason was also an all-state performer at Chandler High School as well as a member of the very successful club side, Bravo Juniors.

Jason will be missed by all of us who worked with him at Gilbert Soccer Club. Congratulations on your new position and best of luck!
