Arizona State Cup 2008 Begins! |

 The Arizona State Championship Cup began March 28th, 2008. This year the tournament has registered over 240 teams with Gilbert Soccer Club sending 19 Arsenal teams to compete in the event. In 2007 Gilbert Arsenal had 8 teams finish in top 5 with the Arsenal 90 Premier boys being crowned State Champions in their bracket. The Arsenal 91 Premier boys and the Arsenal 92 Premier girls both competed in championship games.
All teams will play in a double elimination format with the tournament going on until May 17th. Competitions will be held for both male and female teams in the following age groups: U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19. Winners in each age group, with the exception of U11, will be eligible to represent the AYSA in the Far West Regional competition of the USYSA National Championships. This year's competition is to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 16th - 22nd. Last year's Regionals saw 5 champions from SoCal, 5 champions from Nevada, 2 champions from Arizona, 2 from NorCal and 1 from Colorado.
