Last week the Arsenal 90 Premier team lost one of their top players. Connor Redd was studying abroad and lost his life in a tragic accident.
Connor Grimes Redd, son of Sandy and Grimes Redd joined the 90 Arsenal for the 2004-2005 season. He played U15 all the way through U19. Connor started in goal while the team accomplished three state championships, two second place finishes, one Far West Regional Semi-final finish, and one NHB Gold Championship. The Arsenal made the state championship every year Connor played with them.  He also played for the ODP team that finished second in the nation. At Pinnacle High School he lettered all four years in soccer and was named a captain his final three years. In his senior year he tallied 79 saves, and 14 shut-outs while helping lead Pioneers to a 2007-08 5A-2 Arizona State Championship. He was selected to the 2007-2008 1st Team All-State and All-Region. He also helped lead the '90 Premier team to the 2008 Arizona State Cup-Champions. Needless to say, Connor was the back bone of many championship teams. He went on to play at St. Marys University in California, an NCAA Division I institution.

The Funeral will be hed on April 13th, 2010 at 9:30 am at the Highlands Church

On the field Connor was a great soccer player, off the field he was even a better person, student, and friend. He had a contagious personality that attracted everyone he met. He was always there to help, to work hard, and to listen. He had a big heart which he used to love those who he knew. Connor was a straight A student and was very popular with his peers. Adults and children alike, respected him. He was an extraordinary person to know and is a great loss for the Arsenal club. The prayers and thoughts of the Arsenal families go out to the Redd family.

A moment of silence was led by Bob Lawrence at this years Arsenal Community Games to honor the memory of Connor before the coaches game. In addition there will be a tribute game to be played between the 90 Premier team and their long standing rivals the Cisco Toros. Lets show the spirit of Teal and Black at the game.
