Davis Peck of the 98 Premier Boys younger brother Devin Peck, also known as our valley’s “Miracle Baby”, was born three and half months early and only weighed 1lb 7oz. Devin spent four and half months in the ICU and 58 days on a ventilator. His own battle to fight for his life proved Devin is destined for greater things. Today, Devin is nine years old and even though he is much delayed, he continues to touch the lives of those around him, one being our “Arsenal families”.
Devin unfortunately had a lot of transition in the public school system, and had very little access to the tools he needed to address the delays he faces today. Our community has been extremely blessed with the opening of L.I.F.E. (Laurens Institute For Education). L.I.F.E. is a non-profit organization that has dedicated its cause to children with special needs and developmental delays. It is the only facility that caters to this special group of children in the whole state of Arizona.
With recent budget cuts, L.I.F.E. is now in jeopardy of losing their resources, which means many children will be without the services they need to develop and mature. The 98 Premier boys on behalf of Devin and L.I.F.E. have decided to fight back, and have chosen to do a fundraiser to help other children such as Devin to have a chance in life. They are reaching out to our own Arsenal families asking for you to help them in their “FIGHT FOR L.I.F.E.!” They hope you will find it in your heart to donate $5 per family for every player that plays Arsenal. Our goal is to get the word out to all families in our community that may need such a unique and special facility that is right here in our own backyard. L.I.F.E. is a non-profit organization and any donation you chose to give is tax deductable.
If you would like to learn more about L.I.F.E. or get more involved, please go to their website, www.laurensinstitute.org. All checks can be made out to: L.I.F.E. Children like Devin Peck are called “special” for a reason. Give them a chance! GIVE THEM L.I.F.E.!!
