Madyson_WellcomeMadyson Welcome was chosen this week as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) defensive player of the week. She is a true freshmen at Fort Lewis College in Durango,Colorado and is one of 5 players recruited from Jeff Perry's Arsenal 92 Premier Girls Team. The Skyhawks are enjoying a successful run and are currently ranked 6th in the NCAA Division II National Womens poll. Their last 6 games have shown a +13 Goal differential and no doubt Madyson Wellcome is a factor in that. We wish her and her Skyhawk teammates, Emma Cannis, Taylor Tegtmeyer, Megan Striedel, Torrey Larson continued success.

alumni1Two of Gilbert Soccer Club’s ’91 alumni, having played 8 years with each other as teammates, met on a grassy field high in the mountains of Colorado on a warm Friday afternoon this September.

Separated by nearly 1200 miles, the sophomore at St. Cloud in Minnesota, and the freshman, new to the college soccer scene at Fort Lewis, walked onto the pitch this day in Durango as competitors, one in black the other in white, there was no teal in sight.

Their love of the game and spirit of play could be seen throughout the day, but the friendship they built while playing with their Arsenal team, will be felt forever, no matter what color uniform they wear.
