CORY CHRISTENSEN is the Director of the Arsenal Academy. Cory spent four years playing soccer at Briar Cliff University. He played one year with the Sioux City Breeze and two years with the Arizona Saguaros. Cory has coached at the high school and club level for the past 12 years as well as being an assistant coach for the Arizona Heatwave. This is Cory’s eighth year with Gilbert Soccer Club. He is coaching the Arsenal 94 Premier girls for the 08-09 season. The 94’s have finished in the top four in the state for the last four years. Cory holds a “C” license. He works full time as a physical education and health teacher at the elementary school level. Cory’s wife, Shelley, is a chiropractor in Chandler, and they just welcomed their first child in March.
DAN WOLF is the Assistant Director for the Arsenal Academy. Dan spent four years playing soccer at Briar Cliff University as well as playing for the Sioux City Breeze. Dan is also a technical trainer for the competitive teams in the club. He led the Arsenal 91 Premier girls to the state championship in 2004 and 2006. He holds a USSF B License. He and his wife, Heather, both teach elementary education. This is Dan’s ninth season with Gilbert Soccer Club.
DREW GUARNERI-trainer
Drew played Division 1 for Drake University as well as for the Des Moines Menace and the Arizona Sahuaros. He coached at Chandler-Gilbert Community College for 9 years in both the men’s and women’s programs ranking as high as 3rd and 7th in the nation respectively. Drew is also the head coach at Desert Ridge High School. The American Community College Athletic Conference has twice named Drew as the “Coach of the Year”. Drew holds a National A License and has coached with GSC for 13 years. Drew and his wife, Shannon, have two children.
JEFF BRICKER--trainer
Jeff played at Tarkio College and Briar Cliff University where he was the leading scorer and All-Conference in 1991. Jeff received the VYSL Coach of the Year Award in 2004 and the GSC Boy’s Coach of the Year Award in 2005. He has had back to back state championships with his Arsenal 93 Premier boys in 2005 and 2006. He holds a USSF C License. This is Jeff’s 8th year with GSC.
